Boomerangs

Boomerangs have become a famous symbol of the original Australians. There are many kinds and shapes of boomerangs, but only some are made to return. Most are used for hunting and fighting although some are made, usually in pairs, to be used as musical instruments in ceremonies. The classic boomerang has a shape of great beauty, and they were often elaborately decorated with engraved or painted patterns.

Our hunting boomerangs are made by Bundjalung craftsman Michael Walker and then painted by Bundjalung Artist john Rotumah. Our returning boomerangs are made by two different 100% Aboriginal owned businesses. All our boomerangs are Indigenous made and painted. We buy direct from all involved and take great pride in supporting small business and individual artists, helping keep old, ancient cultural crafts and traditions alive.
