This handmade pair of clapsticks are made by Uncle Doug Pearce from the Madi Madi Tribe in South West Victoria. They measure 24.5cm x 2.8cm each
Clapsticks have been used for thousands and thousands of years in song and dance to keep rhythm.
Uncle Doug married Aunty Veronica (Boona) from Maclean along the Clarence River, Yaegle tribe. He has been living in the area for many many now years raising a large family together. He also makes amazing carved didgeridoos, bullroarers and walking sticks.
We purchase Doug's beautiful work directly from him throughout the year when he drives up from near Maclean to see us.
