For white Australia's bicentenary in 1988, Aboriginal people took the defiant slogan: WE HAVE SURVIVED!
No nation proves this better than the Bundjalung caught between the penal settlements of Port Macquarie and Moreton Bay, invaded by loggers, farmers, developers and tourists, their culture endures and even flourishes.
This book tells their inspiring story, the how and why of survival.

This is the 4th copy of the book which I have loaned to others and which have disappeared into the reading community. My own family contributed to early researchers into the Bundjalung language & often spent days speaking the language instead of English. McQUILTY RALLEY EXTON & JACKSON are some connections.
I keep recommending various books to people to try to inform them of First Nations History of which most have not a clue.

Totally interesting, yet terribly sad information on the place I grew up and call home. I read it cover to cover and will so again one day. Must read! Very least a flick through, especially if you live on bundjaling land.
Very the happy with my purchase!!!
Just slow delivery Australia Post.
