Planet Corroboree was created for many reasons. One main one is because these two boys were born. Without them Planet Corroboree would not exist. It is a story to tell (see our website for more info) Through Planet Corroboree opening in 2002 we hoped to share culture and art providing a place for artists to be honoured respectfully and financially. Back in the early days of our opening some other great things were happening in Byron Bay area and The Arts Factory had Aboriginal dancing every monday night. We would go every week and through this Yarbirri (on the clapsticks) and Kowunduh (on the didge) learnt how to count to 5 watching their uncles through song and dance. This is what they are doing in this video. Counting to five our local Bundjalung language. We were having so much fun! I was so happy, so I was laughing a lot, a little distracting....but I can't get time back to do it again as it was over 15 years ago, lol!! :)

It is so wonderful that we have access to Bundjalung language and that we can keep it going by using it in our everyday lives with the names of local animals, plants, places, body parts etc.
