Inspired by his mother and his children, John has been painting for over 30 years — 25 of those as a professional Indigenous artist.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003eHis artwork, which spans many mediums, has reached audiences around the world. One of his most iconic Aboriginal designs is the kangaroo sunset, a recurring theme that has become his artistic signature. Unfortunately John passed away in March 2026. 💔\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003eThese are the last of the boomerangs we have from him. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003eJohn’s mother’s family are Minjungbal people from Fingal, on the north coast of New South Wales, beside the ocean. His father’s heritage is from Rotuma Island, Fiji, and John proudly carries his father’s name. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003eWe’ve had the honour of showcasing and selling John’s original Aboriginal artwork since our beginnings.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eAbout the Craftsman \u003c\/strong\u003e– Michael Walker- \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003eEach traditional boomerang is made by Michael Walker, a proud Bundjalung man and skilled Aboriginal wood craftsman. Michael previously operated a boomerang workshop in Kyogle, NSW, and now lives in Darwin.
