Hardwood Black Wattle Bullroarer by Doug Pearce - No: 2

These Bullroarers are made by Uncle Doug Pearce from the Madi Madi Tribe in South West Victoria. They measure 25cm x 6cm each

Bullroarers are an ancient communication tool. Swung around they make a loud pulsating sound that travelled far across the valley. It carried the message for tribe or neighbouring tribes to gather.

Uncle Doug married Aunty Veronica (Boona) from Maclean along the Clarence River, Yaegle tribe. He has been living in the area for many many now years raising a large family together. He also makes amazing carved didgeridoos, bullroarers and walking sticks.

We purchase Doug's beautiful work directly from him throughout the year when he drives up from near Maclean to see us.
