12" Painted Hunting Boomerang By Scott Rotumah

This hardwood hunting boomerang is painted by local artist Scott Rotumah and made by local craftsman Michael Walker.

Both Scott and Michael have been apart of our Planet Corroboree family from our beginning days back in 2002.

Scott has been a celebrated Indigenous Artist for over 15 years. His coastal heritage is reflected in his art, through painting all that is the scope of the Bundjalung nation. From the wondrous ocean to the majestic mountains his artwork is full of vibrant colours to compliment his contemporary designs. Scott is just at home and accomplished in the ocean as he is on land, being the 2 times Indigenous surfing champion. He relishes passing these attributes and wonderful skills onto his beautiful 4 children who inspire and amaze him everyday.

Michael is a Bundjalung man who ran a boomerang factory for many years from Kyogle, Northern NSW. These days he lives in Darwin but travels back to country once a year and stops in with boomerangs for us. We get local artists like Scott and his brother John to paint them.
